KAIMANAWA'S WITH THEIR NEW OWNER'S
*RONGOPAI MERLOT*
Merlot was brought from the 2000 muster as a 6mth weanling. He was my first wild capture pony.   I had Merlot till he was 5yrs. I would have loved to have kept him but realised he had far too much talent and looks and should be out there doing things. Merlot now lives with his new owner Olivia Henwood in Auckland. Merlot is one very spoilt, well looked after pony and I couldn't have wished for a better home for him.   Thanks Olivia for giving him a great home and you two look fantastic together!
*STONEYRIDGE MALBEC*
Malbec was brought from the 2001 muster as a 6mth weanling. I had him gelded and did the basic handling and sold him as a 2yr old to Gina Rothery in Kawhia who started him and got him going beautifully. You did a great job Gina!!
Malbec is now with his new owner Sarah McPhail in Te Kowhai. (Bottom photos) It is great to see him looking and going so well for Sarah.
*MONTELLO SWEET*
Montello came out of the 2002 muster as a weanling. Montello was gelded and the basic handling done and was sold as a 2yr old to Lyndsay Stanaway in Auckland. Lyndsay and her sister Christina have started Montello and have him looking gorgeous and doing really well at shows. Another fantastic home.
*MUSCAT ICE"
Muscat Ice was mustered in 2002 as a weanling. I did the basic handling on him and started him and sold him as a 3yr newly broken in pony to the Hill Family in Tirau. Muscat has an awesome laid back nature, not much bothered him at all. All the makings of a great kids pony.
*SHIRAZ*
I first heard about Jazz when I received a call saying HELP this ugly Kaimanawa needs saving from these people! Poor Jazz was living on her own with an owner who didn't like her. I begged my friend Gina to come and have a look at her and take her on as a project! Jazz was so unhappy, very grumpy, which was understandable! I hid Jazz at my place for awhile until Gina was brave enough to tell her parents! Gina took her to Kawhia and discovered Jazz was just green and knew nothing. We since discovered Jazz had been passed around alot and no one really taking the time with her. Gina quickly discovered Jazz's ability to jump and even do dressage.   Now all Jazz needed was a little rider...
Justine was looking for a pony to move onto soooo Gina leased Jazz to Justine and under Gina's instructing they have both taken off! They are amazing to watch together and have such a great bond. It is just fantastic to see the difference in Jazz from when I first laid eyes on her to now. She is one very lucky pony!
*KAIMANAWA WIND IN THE WILLOWS*
Badger came out of the 2003 muster as a woolly wee weanling. He was so cool to do anything with right from the start, just took everything in his stride and was a real pleasure to work with. Badger was found a new home as a yearling with Lynsey Blacklock in Wellington where he is loved to bits and it shows. He has recently been broken in and Lynsey tells me he is going great.
*PIPPIN*
Pippin came to me as a weanling from the 2003 muster. I did the basic handling on him and he went with Badger on the big long trip to Wellington where he now lives with his new owner Nikki.   Nikki and Pippin have worked hard together to form a wonderful partnership and Pippin is about to begin his ridden career. Pippin is a real character of a pony and while he was here kept everyone entertained by playing with his ball, rolling in his feed, climbing up the fence rails and playing in the hose water.
