My biggest Thank you of course is to the wonderful Kaimanawa Wild Horses. They have taught me so much over the last few years, not only about handling horses but lots of things like the biggest being PATIENCE!! I have found each horse to be different and what might work on one pony will not work on another, so there can't just be one right way to do things. They are the most intelligent, sensitive and rewarding animals. They love people and they love to learn new things. Each day they teach me something new and I always look forward to learning with them.
Secondly Huge Thank you to everyone who has taken a pony from my place and given them a fantastic new home. It is a big thing for the pony to go to a new home and have a new owner, almost like starting all over again. The kaimanawas really bond to people and as I have found will soon let you know if it's not going well. The fact that all these ponies look so happy and are doing so well shows that they all have great homes. It also means alot to me that you all keep in touch and keep me updated, it doesn't hurt quite so much parting with them knowing that I will still receive pics and updates about them :)
AND BIG THANKS TO THE TEAM OF PROFESSIONALS WHO HELP MAKE THE KAIMANAWA PONIES HAPPY AND HEALTHY WHILE THEY ARE HERE:
JENNY LOMAS
Jenny is my Natural hoof trimmer and using her wild horse barefoot trim, we are able to have the ponies hooves as healthy and hardy as they can be. Jenny is extremely knowledgable on anything to do with feet and has rehabilatated many horses successfully. Jenny's website
LEIGH WILLS
Leigh is just fantastic with horses and has been a huge help to me if I come across a problem or need a hand with the horses. It's also been great when Leigh brings out her students to work with the horses as while the horses may have got used to me doing things with them, to have a group doing things with them is a whole new experience for them and plays an important part of their learning. Leigh is also amazing at reading animal behaviour and it's awesome to watch her working with the horses. Leigh's website
VICKY McCALLUM
Vicky is the most amazing person with animals. Vicky does Vibrational Energy, Massage and is an Animal Communicator. Animals cannot tell us when they are sore or when they are unhappy about something, Vicky has a special ability to be able to let us, the humans know what the animals cannot say. When new animals arrive at my place Vicky is the first to see them to help them settle in and fix any past issue's they may have had. I cannot recommend Vicky highly enough if you have a problem or issue with your horse. Contact Vicky
KAYE MANNING
Kaye is my Equine Dentist. As the Kaimanawas are mainly having their teeth done for the first time, it is an absolute must I have someone who is Quiet, Kind, Gentle and Patient with the horses. Kaye is all of those things and the horses always finish having had a happy experience and are easy to do the next time around. Kaye is passionate about equine dentistry and happily explains everything as she goes. I highly recommend Kaye for all your horses dental work. Kaye's email
